WhatsApp broadcast

Sends an approved template message to opted-in customers through the official WhatsApp Cloud API.

WhatsApp is not set up. Put your AccessToken and PhoneNumberId in the WhatsApp section of appsettings.json and restart. You need a Meta Business account, a WhatsApp Business number on the Cloud API, and a template approved by Meta. Free-text marketing messages are not allowed.

How it works

Only customers marked as opted in are included. Tags are matched against the customer's comma-separated tags.

The template name and language must match exactly what Meta approved. If the template body has {{1}}, tick the name box and the customer's name goes there (or "Customer" if empty).

The page waits until every message is sent, about 0.2 seconds per customer. For a few thousand customers, keep the page open for several minutes.
